IGUACU FALLS - Page 1 of 5

These waterfalls are located in Southern Brazil in the state of Parana on the border with Argentina. They are 2.5 miles long and descend 269 feet (82m) into the Iguaçu River. There are 275 separate waterfalls or cataracts. The name of the falls comes from the Guarani Indian word meaning "great water." In 1986 Iguacu Falls were declared a Natural Heritage of Mankind by Unesco.
